abateyoursorrows :
I listened to Taylor describe it perfectly, “I’ve been spending the last 8 months thinking all love ever does is break, burn, and end”
There. I couldn’t have said it more perfectly myself. For the past 8 months or so, I’ve been on emotional roller coaster ride. For the majority of the time, everything was swell but for the other half, I was hurting beneath it all. I’d like to interpret the “love” she mentions in this part of the song, as the kind of Friendship Love I have for someone right now. It sounds crazy stupid, but the love you share in a long-distance friendship is intense. And when things go wrong, it is intense as well. Especially when you feel like this friendship is coming to an end, and you feel like the love you give to people… it always breaks, it always burns, it always ends. Not because you want it to end, but because they’re careless to see everything you do and your heart grows tired of loving and so it ends.
But maybe this friendship isn’t really at the end, maybe you’re at the end of loving people the way you always have.
