Mindy Kaling has left "The Office" to star in her own Fox show "The Mindy Project."
B.J. Novak will no longer appear as a series regular -- he may recur -- and James Spader has also left the show.
Behind the scenes, Paul Lieberstein, who played Toby and served as "The Office" showrunner, is leaving. Lieberstein is leaving to focus on the Dwight spin-off starring Rainn Wilson.
"Office" mainstays Ed Helms and John Krasinski may also appear in fewer episodes to accommodate their film roles.
