LuRose-Anna
I looked at the clock hanging on my wall, which said 5:00, and called meeting, “Ahem! It’s time for our meeting!”
Macy –Mary-Grace– and Nora –Norma-Jean– stopped what they were doing and looked at me. They are my sisters. We are triplets. My name is Rose-Anna, but everyone calls me Rosa. I was calling meeting for our club The Magic Club. We named it that, because the three of us are…kind of like gifted children with extraordinary powers. I know it’s hard to believe, but we’re kind of used to it now anyway. We all have the ability to shape-shift, but we don’t use our powers unless they’re emergency circumstances. Still, nobody knows about our little secret but us…and you. So keep it as it is for us, okay? Now back to the meeting.
“So, anything to report?” I asked. I was sitting straight in my chair with a pencil at the back of my ear.
“Nothing,” Macy replied.
“Well, I do,” Nora answered.
“Spill,” Macy said.
“Um, it’s not really much of an important thing to report…” Nora started to say while eyeing Macy after every word she said.
“I said ‘Spill’, Nora, which part of that so very easy word, don’t you understand! Why do you have to blab all that nonsense?” Macy gaped at her. I could see right away that Macy was in a bad mood.
“I’m–I’m sorry…” Nora said in a very frightened voice.
“No, Macy, you should apologize,” I said firmly to Macy as she rolled her eyes.
“Why should I do that? I’m so tired of Nora’s blabbers! Why don’t you just tell her to shut up so that none of this would even happen?” Macy glared at every direction.
“Macy, you do know that she is your sister and what you are saying is really hurting her,” I moved Nora up to her.
Macy didn’t say anything at first, and then she took a deep breath. “Okay, sorry about that. Now, what were you saying about the thing you were trying to report?”
Nora looked at me with thankfulness, and then began, “You see, Mom’s birthday is coming, and I was sort of wondering, I mean, I’d like an idea of what kind of present we should give her this time…” Nora said and cautiously eyeing Macy again, aware of any sign Macy would give another one of her Bad-Mood-Tantrums. Fortunately, Macy listened until Nora finished, then smiled. That was a funny thing, but a good sign…until just ten seconds after…Her smiles also mean mischief.
“So, a birthday present for Mom?” I said slowly.
“Y-yeah,” Nora said shortly glancing at Macy. Macy was wearing an expression that I could tell right away was the meaning of mischief.
“What are you planning?” I asked Macy automatically. I am very used to Macy’s ideas. Even though they are risky sometimes in certain points, but they are also good.
“Well, it’s quite obvious isn’t it?” she waved her hands up. “All we have to do, is just shape-shift into another person, and ask what kind of present Mom would like to get.”
“You know, we aren’t allowed to use our powers unless it’s an emergency, right Macy?” I pointed out to her.
“Duh, if this here isn’t called an emergency to a certain person that’s sitting in this room then what’s it called?” Macy sneered at me and Nora.
