The Who kick off 2009 by touring New Zealand and Australia - their first full tour 'down under' for over 40 years.

August 2009 Pete Townshend announces that he would be focusing his energies on a new musical, Floss’. October 2009 Roger Daltrey sets off on a tour of the US – the ‘Use it or Lose it’ tour, referring to the fact that he needed to keep on singing or would lose his voice. He has put together a band of young musicians for the tour - Frank Simes (guitar/music director), Scott Deavours (drums), Jon Button(Bass), Loren Gold (Keyboards) and, also on guitar, Simon (younger brother of Pete) Townshend.
2010
February 7th
The Who come together for the Bridgestone Super Bowl Halftime Show at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami, performing live for approx. 108 million fans watching throughout the U.S. and in 230 countries and territories around the world. The 12 minute set consists of a showcase of Who classics, “Pinball Wizard,” “Baba O’ Riley,” “Who Are You,” “See Me Feel Me” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”
Roger continues his ‘Use it or Lose it’ tour through the spring and early summer of 2010, playing some gigs as support to Eric Clapton.
April 6th
The Who perform a one-off complete performance of Quadrophenia at the Royal Albert Hall, London, concluding the 10th year of concerts in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. The Who are joined by a brass and string section, plus special guests Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) and Tom Meighan (Kasabian).
July 2010
Pete Townshend confirms that the long term effects of playing music too loud are having adverse effects on his hearing. The question starts to arise whether or not The Who will tour again.
2011
January 13th
The band top the bill at the Hammersmith Apollo, London (in aid of the Killing Cancer' charity, which funds research into little-known cancer treatment Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)). Also on that night were Jeff Beck, Debbie Harry and Bryan Adams, all of whom jammed with The Who.
March 24th 2011
Roger Daltrey and his band perform Tommy at the Royal Albert Hall, with a warm up gig a couple of nights before in Bournemouth. The show is a smash hit and prompts Roger to announce a forthcoming tour in the UK and the US/Canada of 'The Who's Tommy, Who classics and more'.
