The Man of Grievances
I received a letter from a sincere friend, which read:
Dear Mr. Wang: I find it very difficult to survive in this world! I don’t know why life has to be so agonizing (使人苦恼的). I went to buy breakfast this morning, only to find that there was no basketball board attached to
the snack bar(小吃店). When I went to buy my newspaper, I found that the newsboy’s eyelids.(眼皮) were not double-folded. I waited at the bus stop for two hours without seeing number 123456789. At the office, I was surprised that there was no bowl of wontons(馄饨) on my desk. I received a phone call, but the caller was not even a one-time Olympic high-jump champion.
